It was a problem the moment computers were brought into the classroom. Apple, Microsoft, and Google gave devices to schools knowing that the kids would be lifetime customers once they use their devices. Schools are also at fault for using Facebook for school announcements and cancelations. During the pandemic many were using Zoom for classes. Like others, many segway to social media since they are already online or see notifications during classes. Finally, Meta Zuck wanted to make Facebook part of the workplace and classes with VR googles. The age limit is just a formality with many of the social apps. TOS is just legality to protect companies from the Feds. I can go to any beer sight and put a fake birthday in and get access. The only ones restricted are the math illiterates.
