The Space Industry has a huge vaporware problem with cool looking CGI press conferences and promotions only to see nothing happen after years of money wasted. You have to wonder if people are using it as a grift to scam investors. I’m starting to question the Starship concept and its ability to accomplish the tasks it’s designed to do. Starship development maybe a dead end. Musk’s design philosophy is to keep it simple and remove unnecessary parts. Starship has been anything but. Solve one problem and three more pop up adding complexity and weight to the ship. Tiles, unproven refueling system in orbit, short landing gear for moon landings, its height requiring a cable system to move crew and cargo on to the moon. The need for a hot ring stage adding weight and we haven’t even put life support and a cabin into Starship. SpaceX is religiously obsessed with Starship but honestly I don’t see it ever being practical for the job or human rated. Return on investment has plateau. Nearly every flight had a fire onboard and the lunar version is simply too tall for moon landings after the second tip over landing of Intuitive Machines. The booster itself is an achievement and can be used with a standard second stage increasing lift capacity. Back to the drawing board or the CAD/CAM for Starship. Keep it simple and Starship is becoming anything but…😢 In no way is this an exhausted list but now is the time to step back and look at everything. I wish SpaceX all the best.
