Remembering how Oceangate sued an expert exposing safety issues. He's right but the legal bills forced him to settle. Somehow, this doesn't seem like justice...

I was a victim of a crime in 1980s and for some reason not given a summons. The prosecutor called me and I rushed down to the court house immediately (2 blocks) The judge and defendant atty threatened me with jail but when I explained I didn’t receive a summon the tone changed. Defendant attorney made me out to be a criminal dodging police to get to court. I’m Black, a veteran never been in trouble with the law. I was the victim of a stabbing. I said it was racist to make that conclusion and the judge agreed and rescheduled. When all was said and done, the judge stated my summons wasn’t properly delivered and apologize for my treatment. I never forgot how I was treated in court...even decades later. 😢

How do you withdraw a raid warrant after they were executed? Like un-eating a meal and returning it the the restaurant… Damage is already done and it further reduces the confidence in government and police… You can’t recall the “hounds” once they’ve been released….(Mr Burns ref)

My guess is the snowmobiles will o longer have access to the airfield because of this lawsuit. Being nice doesn’t pay if people get hurt in your property.

I can see bad guys now pretending to be Pinkertons to intimidate and steal valuable rare items that Youtubers brag about online. Pinkertons and fixers like them should be regulated and require involvement of law enforcement when seizing items. People have been shot simply going to the wrong address. I see a lawsuit coming after the initial shock wears off.

Seems like eBay has fixers. Most Silicon Valley companies does this on some level. Nothing compare to what Disney does to people they don’t like.
35
Use of Federal vehicles are strict. I was on duty in the Marines on base and I couldn't go to a burger place to get something to eat after hours because of "appearances" of impropriety. I had to park and walk to the restaurant. I also had to maintain a trip ticket and milage of every destination. I became obsessively aware of my odometer during my tour. 🤔

Should have at least sued for legal fees. Police was using intimidation and even if arrested would be an inconvenience to the family...to send a message over a random post.
32
Very odd that the woman had to do the detective work to find who did it. Seems the police is protecting the owner by not prosecuting. It means any home can be demolished and be covered under not being intentional. I sense a coverup somewhere. Who commissioned the demo company to do the job? 1965 isn’t that old with homes in Ohio over 100 yrs old.
31
Absolute power corrupts absolutely... Even delusional power... What's sad is rulings from the court not being followed or ignored by the police on purpose. It's training day... Department policy is only PR, it's different on the streets...😢
27
HOA gave permission and even had a survey done in the second attempt. How is this allowed to go on?
22
There's a different between prequalified and preapproved. Even if they were preapproved and accepted, they would only get a small $300 limit and a high annual fee up to $150!
21
I've had that happened one time in San Jose 1987 by a judge and the defense attorney about me. Never been arrested or even had a traffic fine. I was there as a witness and victim of assault on the job. The attorney helping me advised them he's not the accused and has no record and had two jobs. They were "nice" to me after that but I still shock when I hear it still happening in 2023.😮

4:37 One inch...🙄 Having worked in tech and manufacturing with aerospace, there are always tolerances. You can never have an exact right-on-the-nose measurement. It will be a measure plus or minus because of human and equipment error. Why I will never join an HOA? First question I’ll ask when shopping for a home...
18
Black Hawk at night during training isn’t going to be visible. Likely, under light restrictions…
17
There’s no lose of life. The sentencing seem excessive compared to actual manslaughter and worse. Ohio has lots of issues with justice system and government.
14
As it should... I live near Oberlin and am Black. Oberlin is like UC Berkley of the Midwest. It's very radical going back to protests during the Vietnam War. Teachers are very impressionable on students and they were indoctrinated into targeting the business. Worse, they used school resources to stage protests and continue targ for over 130 years. Copiers have tiny marks on them and can be traced back to a particular copier and if it has a warranty registered it canbe tracked to the location.

I’ve worked food service for decades and there’s a lot of shady things done by the owners and management that takes advantage of the employees including making up policies as they go. The cooks and other staffs only get tips if theirs a tip jar or if a customer directly gives them a tip. Otherwise, it’s standard pay. Seems the owner made the policy up and if it’s a big kitchen the amount can go down significantly.

Ohio drivers are well known for aggressive tailgating even when the car they are tailgating is doing 5 mph over the speed limit. Sometime difficult to follow speed limits with that kind of intimidation going unchecked.
10
Reminds me of the Black man that was up on charges because of flawed facial recognition software. Lazy law enforcement used a face and ran it against license photo database and arrest a man that had nothing to do with it. It was eventually cleared up after hours of interrogation and being held in jail.

Robot knows how to deal with cheaters...🤣

If the judge doesn't believe the simple statement from the defendant what hope does she have for a fair trial. Judge should recuses self from trial on this statement alone..."I don't believe you..."

San Diego Convoy St (Kearny Mesa) had zoned to attract companies and business in the 1970s. Instead of tech companies, it attracted restaurants and strip malls to the area. It was too late for the city to change it. 2013 was the time for the SC city to stop the UHaul business. They have to live with their decision.

Could have been Pinkertons showing up demanding payment or taking something valuable…
7
Time is important if you have only a 30 minute lunch. I'm always looking for fast and easy to make meals for lunch.
7
Happened in Ohio at Huntington Bank to someone depositing his first payroll check.
7
It happened in Ohio and there are people still burning leaves legally. There’s also fireplaces during the winter that can be hard on the nose on cold days. Pizza oven would likely have needed a permit to install it. If the oven was smoking enough that burned their eyes and their clothes smelled like smoke…maybe. Maybe, the plaintiffs were trying to sell the property but can’t because of the smoke. I declined an apartment next to a restaurant bar and grill with an outdoor grill with heavy smoke.
7
Some, researches are garbage like eggs and coffee being bad. A researcher will need legal insurance to protect from malicious companies protecting their profits.
7
What price a human life... Some judgements in other countries use age and amount of money the person would make if they are main provider for their family. Low wage earners get shafted compared to hign wage earners. Not calculated is human potential to improve over time.
6
Having moved back to Ohio after retiring in California, I’ve seen obviously defaced Ohio license plates on vehicles. Mostly chipped paint around the characters or a tinted covering to reduce visibility. In California, they would stopped them almost immediately but it seems to be tolerated here. 🤔 Plate readers would have a real hard time…

Seems Bullethead has been watching too many cop shows and movies. Or maybe he thinks he’s some kind of hero like Batman.🤣

Monster Energy is abusing their trademark. Not the first time, after the word Edge was similarly copyright enforced for the longest time by Tim Langdell. Eventually, the trademark troll claims were invalided in 2011. Here we are again...😮

If I was the French store owner and I bought it for $197 but I wasn’t sure…this is what I would do. Place it in consignment with the dealer acting as an agent. If it sold for multimillions of dollars, I would go to the couple and give them 70% and keep a $1 Million as finders fee and processing etc. Still be ahead on the deal. As it stands now, you could retire on that one sale.
6
There are always extraneous circumstances. The judge lacks empathy. The judge didn’t ask (privately) why she was falling asleep and allowing the class to indirectly bully her is just another layer of incompetence. The teen could be in a bad home or working to babysit siblings while the parents are working… It plays into the stereotype of judges abusing their power. Road to hell is paved with good intentions.

The workers had a GOFUNDME each getting about $6,000 each. I would say they were well compensated for a weekend inconvenience . Karma works....mostly.
5
Stolen card... I would think the person that financed the transaction which would be the person that owned the card. Frances is weird these days after that awful Olympic Opening...

Amazon has a pretty liberal return replacement policy. However, if you return or lose too many shipments, you can end up on Amazon's banned list. Given the number of business taken out by them, you don't want to be that person. Porch pirates cab cause them not to deliver to you at all. I get nervous every time I have to say it's lost or I had to return something. Is this the one that puts me on the naughty list...😊
5
Legal profession today is very good troubling with rulings and actions so bizarre it can't be ignored. Rulings affect everyone's daily lives. Most obvious errors can take decades to change.
5
Where were you in 1980 -1981….Reaganomincs…MTV…DeLorean… maiden flight of Columbia…I graduated high school in the middle of a recession… How can anyone get that time back over the courts. The person in prison isn’t the same person that they would have become had they had their freedom. Everything they know is gone. 😢
5
It's up there with the Oklahoma reporter and the town council members talking about lynching him. It was caught on a recorder keft behind by rhe reporter suspecting there was business being discussed after the public meeting closed. These are dark days in America...😢🇺🇸
5
Not if you look at being a law student or the interworkings of law as a layman. State laws like this can cause headaches. Wonder if they'll modify it after this ruling.

eBay and Paypal are a menacing duo. Still remember the antique violin that survived WWII that Paypal believes is a fake and told the customer to destroy it and send a picture. It was real...

Atlantic City has been on hard times since other states started legalizing casinos. I think she has a case and it will settle.
4
It’s legalized ransomware for essential items for stuff you already own. What will happen if the maker goes out of business or outdated.
4
Back in the golden days there were many underground cultures of hacking, phone phreaking and pirate radio stations. Sticking it to corporate and the Feds... Movie "Pump Up The Volume" comes to mind. One thing is never do "it" from home and use a mobile location. Keep changing locations and times... Not worth it these days if caught. Those were the days...😊

I've travel cross country and I can say you can't get far on $20. Might as well leaving him out in the desert with no water to die. Food and gas is difficult especially in a desert region like Nevada. You don't want to be stuck in Arizona in +100°F weather out of gas on the long road to nowhere.
4
I rented a UHaul for cross country travel and you have the option for full no fault insurance for additonal cost. I'm glad I did after the vehicle was vandelised, tires flattened, and windshield broken in San Diego. If not for the no fault insurance I would have been on the hook for $3500 in damages. Pay extra for peace of mind.

20 year old crime still causing issues. I would think the statute of limitations would apply.
4
Likely social engineering and a lapse on the bank's part. Hackers make mistakes too...😆
4
California is following in lock step. Issues I have with it is whether our already strained power grids (and Canada) can handle the additional loads. Also, those car batteries need Cobalt that are being minded using child labor in Africa. Cause and effect.... I hope all issues are solvable.
