  1. There are always extraneous circumstances. The judge lacks empathy. The judge didn’t ask (privately) why she was falling asleep and allowing the class to indirectly bully her is just another layer of incompetence. The teen could be in a bad home or working to babysit siblings while the parents are working… It plays into the stereotype of judges abusing their power. Road to hell is paved with good intentions.
