  1. Russia won't ditch ISS until they have a new station in place. They may team up with China and build on their station. As for ISS, it could be reconfigured to get rid of the older parts of ISS and newer modules added. They don't have to toss the whole thing in the ocean. ISS can be a beachhead to build a new space station. Either that or we start building space shuttles again.
