  1. With Putin in charge, you would wonder if Gorbachev was helped along to strengthen Putin's lust for power. Despite being a former KGB agent, Gorbachev and Reagan had a rapport that led to relative Global Peace for the US until 9/11. Russia needs another Gorbachev to avoid undoing decades of progress. He will be missed not just by Russia but the world.
