My main concern about Justice (aside from the fact that he was pretty weak on the vaccine stuff when all that garbage was going on) is his age. Even if he were to win I think he'd only serve one term, which while good in the sense that even if he sucks we could easily replace him with someone a lot better in 6 years, also is concerning because at that point it makes him feel merely like a transitional senator and a temporary placeholder rather than someone new, fresh and bright. Ultimately I think Manchin is done no matter what because WV is simply far too Republican now and if Trump's on the ballot there's basically no way he holds on regardless of the candidate he faces (plus there's a serious shot Manchin may retire anyway if the rumors about "No Labels" looking to him as a potential nominee are accurate), but I still hope Mooney wins the primary. I don't think he's the best Republican in the world but I think he has a lot more long-term potential and is better on the issues than Justice, plus he'd still easily win anyway. Anyone who thinks that Mooney is "UNELOOCTABLE" is a complete fool. We don't live in a day and age anymore where Americans are willing to look past party ID!

Nah I think Manchin is toast either way (if he even runs which there's a legit chance he either just flat out retires or even makes a laughably hopeless presidential bid). The question really is more so about what type of Republican is gonna replace him. will it be a more bland, boring and useless establishment type, or a based MAGA conservative who could have a great voting record and take WV up a few notches?

Honestly I sometimes wonder if the electabros (or at least some of them) are really just closet Democrats actively working to sabotage the GOP by trying to manipulate them into voting against their best interests by painting a false narrative that their best interests aren't "elooctable" and shit like that. Some of them just seem like Democrat plants desperate to scare people into voting for garbage neocon/neolibs so that they can continue destroying this nation. And what better way to do that then to try and convince them that they're shit candidates are supposedly the only ones that can ever win!

He's vulnerable for the reason you stated and also because of polarization. At the federal level at least, with the ONLY exception being the occasional weird flukish special elections that occur in off years (IE Alabama 2017), Dems just don't win in red states anymore and Republicans don't win in blue states anymore.

Tell me about it... It's a shame that some people on the right are exactly like those on the left, those willing to forget and even in some cases completely forgive complete and utter betrayal and horrible votes (IE both Manchin and Sinema's impeachment votes) so long as the person they're forgiving has even ONE good vote against their despised president! YES it's a good thing that Manchin and Sinema opposed some aspects of Biden's agenda like the nuking of the filibuster. But that doesn't make them heroes or "patriots" by any stretch of the imagination, ESPECIALLY when they still vote with Biden nearly 100% of the time. Not to mention the fact that politicians are politicians for a reason... They know that at times they'll have no choice but to vote a certain way if they want to stand any chance in hell of getting re-elected! Though luckily for us I think both Manchin and Sinema are done anyway, though in the case of the latter, we can only hope it's with a based Republican and not fucking far left nutjob Ruben Gallego. If that happens Arizona is completely and utterly lost!

@Pan_Z Yes, Cruz has some good votes and is far from the worst Republican out there (and I will agree with anyone any day who says that he's way, way better than his counterpart John Cornyn), but he's still a huge generic boomer con and is a prime example of someone who will say and do whatever he feels is necessary to get elected. The 1/6 situation is a great example of this, where he literally went and attacked Trump and his supporters several days after the incident despite voting not to certify the results the day of.
