@mariaavalon3730 I'm pretty sure that's just called "taking personal responsiblity". You don't want to have kids there are numerous ways of preventing it before ever becoming pregnant, especially and most prominently, simply choosing not to have sex.

As it should be. It's asinine that abortion was EVER federalized in this country!
17
And even if they don't, like I've said, it's worth it. Preventing baby murder is far more important than red dots on a map.
15
@mariokarter13 Exactly. Even the left's beloved RBG admitted that Roe was a terribly decided case.
12
Good, let them think that. Never interrupt your enemy while they're making a mistake :)

@Gwenhwyfar7 Any slight boost the Dems get from this will easily be overriden by the same boost the GOP is about to get from the "lost" conservative voters who have lost faith this could ever happen and are finally going to pull into the polls in droves.

@robertisham5279 I definitely agree, but certainly not for her rightfully stating that Roe was a horribly decided case.

Styx is desperate to hold onto his lol-bertarian views even with him about to have a baby. He's got too much selfish pride and is also far too full of cowardice to admit he's wrong.

I'll happily take a blue wave if it means we're finally saving the lives of millions of unborn babies and actually upholding the constitution. And considering how short peoples' attention spans are as well as the fact that abortion has historically never been an issue that more than 90% of voters have deemed of mass importance (and in fact of the very few who do deem it as such, nearly all of them are pro life), it really won't galvanize the left as much as the MSM wants you to believe it will. If anything this decision could actually lead to a surge in votes for conservative candidates now that many pro-life people will finally begin to have faith that they can make a difference in society.

Why should an unborn child suffer for the bad actions of another human being?

Frankly even if the election mafia/electabros nonsense fear and whining about Roe v Wade being overturned leading to a "blue wave" is correct, I honestly really don't care (and in fact I actually think the opposite and that this will lead to unprecedented levels of conservative turnout, for many people on the right prior to this have given up hope that this will ever be done, and I think this will convince a lot of them that your vote actually DOES matter). Preventing the genocide of the unborn is important and the right thing to do, and if the cost of that means a Democrat wave then so be it! Conservatives have been pledging to overturn Roe for nearly 50 years. About high time they finally went and actually did it!

I frankly wouldn't care even if it did considering just how important protecting fetuses from murder is, but I really don't think it'll do much if at all to help the Democrats either in this year or in 2024. Aside from the fact that VERY LITTLE of the electorate actually votes on abortion to begin with (and most of that few who do are pro-life voters to begin with), the fact still remains that the economy is trash (and will only continue to get worse), everyone outside of the leftoid echo chamber sees Joe Biden for the failure that he is, and with Elon having bought Twitter the left no longer has one of their election influencing tools. Plus on top of that I actually think this ruling could very well spark a HUGE amount of enthusiasm amongst conservatives, who for the longest time have lost faith that this could ever happen given the fact that the GOP has promised overturning Roe for nearly 50 years but haven't done it until now. This could awake and bring out an unprecedented amount of pro-life voters to the polls and very much boost their chances!

Freedom and personal responsibility are not mutually exclusive. You can be in favor of freedom while still acknowledging that people are fundamentally in charge of their own lives and must face the consequences of whatever decisions they choose to make. Also, even if you are pro-choice and genuinely for whatever reason think it is a freedom loving position, you can still look at Roe v Wade and acknowledge it was a horribly decided case. Even leftist icon RBG admitted as much when she was on SCOTUS. Not to mention that all this decision will do is take abortion back into the hands of the states, meaning that in blue states abortion will remain as legal as it ever has been the past 50 years.

It's worth it if it means we're saving millions of unborn children from brutal murder. Besides, with how garbage the economy is right now plus Biden's terrible approval rating AND the fact that voters in this country have short attention span and forget things easily within just a few weeks if even that long, I highly doubt it'll sway the midterms that much anyway. Especially because historically abortion hasn't been a top defining issue for like 90%+ of the electorate, and even of those where it is one, they're overwhelmingly pro-life voters.

@phoenixobrien163 Feel free to leave then. If you don't like our constitution there's many other places you can live.
1
Exactly. The only crime is the fact that this unconstitutional piece of garbage was precedent for nearly 50 years.

@annatardlordofderps9181 Yep, it's a classic case of legislation from the bench. Even the left's famous RBG admitted that Roe was a horribly decided case with no constitutional basis. Even if one is somehow for infant murder (I'm not gonna mince words, that's EXACTLY what it is), you can still look at Roe v Wade and recognize that it was a horrible decision from the beginning.

John Roberts once again proves he is absolutely worthless. You really have to wonder if somebody has something on him! That aside though, damn good news IMO. My own personal hatred for abortion aside, Roe v Wade was still a garbage, unconstitutional ruling that even several pro-choicers have admitted was terribly decided, and it's about time it finally got overturned. SCOTUS may be filled with compromised individuals and activist justices, but every now and again they still give me hope that some good can come from it even today.

Any time to stop unborn children murder is good IMO.
