It's funny to see so many people here engage in the exact same illogical reasoning as the left, by overly scrutizining the lives of these black folks and therefore pretending they don't deserve a place in history. I'll give these folks the same argument I give the left: If you're gonna claim we shouldn't honor these folks because of bad things they may have done in their lives, then by that logic we shouldn't honor practically ANY historical figure who lived before 1950, because you'll be hard-pressed to find famous people in history who did NOT do something that we would find scummy today with our 21st century values!

Hyper Dragon Anaconda I don't care about being looking "non-racist", I care about being logically consistent. If we're not going to destroy the legacy of our founding fathers based on the fact that many of their bad actions can be excused due to their time period, than we also shouldn't destroy the legacy of MLK Jr. simply because he may have been a commie. Believe it or not, you can be logically consistent without trying to appease one group or another. You should try it sometime bud.

Hyper Dragon Anaconda "Republicuck" LOL, says the guy who is literally using leftist logic to justify removing history of people he doesn't like. Keep the hypocritical replies coming bro!

@cryp mkt And that's fine. You can dislike a person and still understand their historical significance.

@cryp mkt I've never claimed Muhammed Ali or MLK Jr. were heroes, just that they were historically important figures in America and by focusing on the shit they did wrong, you're making the same fallacious argument as the left when they argue for the removal of monuments and holidays of "slave owners". That was it. All people like you do are proving my point by continuing to point out why the fact that their historical importance bothers you.

AJtheory A lot of the comments here ARE doing just that though, arguing that they should be erased or at the very least downplayed in historical conscience simply because they did bad things. Obviously you won't catch me arguing that MLK Jr. was the ideal American everyone should strive to be, but that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a holiday of honor for what he achieved in this country.

ekimshield It's pretty hard to detect sarcasm on the internet nowadays, especially when often times people like to use the "sarcasm" card to get out of admitting why their argument is incorrect. This is an especially common trait of the left that I've noticed.v

@MayannHanna What can I say... It's the internet. People can get petty over the silliest thing sometimes.

AJtheory Where did I say anything about George Washington Carver or peanut butter? Your comment is 100% off topic dude.
1
AJtheory You did, you were the only one who brought up either subject. FTR peanut butter wasn't even invented by Washington Carver, but that's not something we'll be getting into as that is totally irrelevant both to the video and this discussion.

AJtheory Clearly you do care, otherwise you wouldn't be replying to me.
