I'm tired of conservatives acting like literally anybody and everybody is their hero just because they may be good on ONE issue even if they're horrible on EVERYTHING else!

  7. I think Manchin knows he has no chance in hell to win. I believe if he does run for president it'll only be a grift to make money and sell books, pretending as if though he's some "unique conservative Dem standing up against the liberal takeover of America" or some bullshit like that, that way he can at least end his career with some extra cash in his pocket rather than an absolutely humiliating defeat in his home state. Regardless of all that though, I still welcome his candidacy, if only for the fact that it's great to see SOMETHING potentially coming into fruition that could royally fuck over Biden and the Democrats!

Literally the ONLY way I think Manchin would win re-election as Senator is if you have some major conservative third party candidate enter the race to take a huge portion of the vote away from either Justice or Mooney and then he wins in an extremely flukish circumstance. And I highly, HIGHLY doubt that's going to happen! At that point you're just wishcasting more than anything...

  9. By his party's standards of today maybe, but not by any actual meaningful metric otherwise. Joe Manchin today is really what your average Dem standard-bearer was like 10 years ago. Far from a genuine moderate, let alone "conservative Dem", by any stretch.

Many conservatives desperately want to pretend that we still live in the 1980's and that the Dems are still any sort of legitimate political opposition rather than an active force bringing this country to the brink of ruin. Indeed the fact that someone as far left and batshit crazy like RFK Jr. can hoodwink right wingers into thinking that he's actually a reasonable guy just because he says what we like hearing about the COVID vaccine and Fauci is proof of just how deeply in trouble we remain as a country and why the Dems have been, and will likely continue to, be easily able to lead people astray and fool them into voting for them.

Not many people other than a small (but still potentially significantly portion of) the TDS so-called "Republicans" who voted for Biden because they were scared of "MUH MEAN TWEETS!" and perhaps a few old-school Dems who desperately want to believe there's still a chance to "take back" their party and make it somewhat moderate, but even still, Manchin really doesn't need to win a whole lot of votes to screw Biden over. Remember that the jackass only "won" by about 44K votes in total across 3 states. In other words, even if Manchin only wins THAT many votes multiplied by 2 from Biden's base and Trump's support remains mostly untouched, the potato is FUCKED, especially when you also take into account the fact that Cornell West will also eat into Biden's support a bit!
