@Blink_____ I used to think TX was in serious danger of going blue, but with how much Trump is kicking ass in the state in current polling plus how well Republicans (including even Ken Paxton) did in 2022, I'm not so sure if it really is anymore, at least not this decade. I think a LOT of the trends we were seeing in 2018 and 2020 were either one-time flukes and are already starting to correct course, on top of the fact that Hispanics in the RGV are shifting drastically to the right. Trump could very well win TX this year by just as much if not more then he won it in 2016 by, and I suspect the state will largely stagnate rather than trend significantly in either direction throughout the rest of the 2020's. I'm certainly not saying it's impossible for Dems to win TX, but as of now I feel like the only way it happens is if the Dems are having a massive and historical landslide, and frankly I just don't see any way in hell that happens in 2024 or frankly any major election the next few years (obviously it's a bit too early to confidently predict 2028, but I'd imagine that so long as Trump's second term is even 3/4 as great as we're hoping it will be that it should be another close contest).
