  1. I understand that. Mine loves to call me but usually in there is a jab. I had to grieve her not being my idea of a “mommy” and try and always be the one I wanted. That healed it a lot.

  4. It took a long time to believe that he wasn’t a nice guy who did mean things sometimes but the opposite. He wasn’t disturbed by things he did. He was lying all the time but I didn’t know most of it. I guess I didn’t want to. He talked a good 12 step program but never did it so never got the benefit. The freedom and joy he spoke of and many of us in recovery got were not possible for him. He was trapped-too afraid to be honest. What will time do with my memories? As one of my sons has put it “He was a f______ force of nature.” That made me think of a beautiful ocean bay where sometimes there are hurricanes.
