  20. In the Netherlands we've grown used to all this. But not even here would we destroy old roads to make bike paths. We just draw a small path on the side of the road that cyclists can use as well as cars. Also, everyone here drives a bicycle. So people in cars are very polite to bicycles and I we are polite to them. I personally do always stop for walkers but it is right that people always think they can squeeze past on a bike. Not unlike people who drive motorbikes!

  37. You can get second hand clothing from the previous century or in the style thereof for a fraction of the price. Wool coats, cotton shirts and so forth. I did this and man it is so easy to look better than 99% of people this way. The plastic bags people call coats these days are the prime offender, in second place comes the loose t-shirts with images printed on them. Also, most people are pretty bad at matching colors it seems. Thirdly the 'hoodie', a hood, if you want one, should be on your coat as it should repel water. The worst ones are the ones with zippers as they'll make those bulges. This I think is exclusively for home wear. Fourth the jeans, jeans aren't all THAT bad by themselves, but people wear jeans that don't fit them and think you can wear them with anything and any color and look good, no you can't. Of course wearing sweatpants outside is even worse, but honestly doesn't happen much around here. And lastly the shoes. Just get leather shoes and make sure to wax them. They repel water, they are comfortable and they make you look a hundred times better. Personally I like barefeet shoes and chelsea boots, personally don't like dress shoes.
