Man I love how clever their framing is, it would be hard for an average Joe to pull apart. People often see democracy as the opposite of totalitarianism and equate the latter with dictatorship. But as shown in Canada (and plenty other historical examples), elected officials have just the same capability for tyranny and oppression towards minorities. Just a crazy thing where a tyrannical government tells people how they’re allowed to protest the erosion of their freedoms. It’s quite hilarious although I would be really worried and angry if I was a Canadian right now.
