Her English sounds like she hasn't spoken it for very long and is trying to adapt to your American English. I've definitely heard this phenomenon before with Dutch people who moved away, came back and sounded odd. Also in EVERY culture ever was the mom the caretaker. The only reason this has diminished in the West in the last few years is because of complete reliancy on the state and corporations, which is bad. I'm proud of every woman out there that loves being with their children and raises them with love and wisdom.

Stereotypes are based on the rule of reality. Of course people will be surprised if an American speaks Japanse or Chinese, that's rare, an exception! But fetishizing it makes me cringe as well, going up to people and saying aaaa NASI GORENG DUUUDE. I'd feel embarassed if someone came up to me with a camera and started speaking broken Dutch to me just to impress me and the viewers.

Guy claims to be Dutch, has a Dutch name, doesn't look Dutch and his Dutch sounds like it's not his first language. But when speaking English he does sound Dutch, in a bad way.
