  1. Stereotypes are based on the rule of reality. Of course people will be surprised if an American speaks Japanse or Chinese, that's rare, an exception! But fetishizing it makes me cringe as well, going up to people and saying aaaa NASI GORENG DUUUDE. I'd feel embarassed if someone came up to me with a camera and started speaking broken Dutch to me just to impress me and the viewers.

  2. Guy claims to be Dutch, has a Dutch name, doesn't look Dutch and his Dutch sounds like it's not his first language. But when speaking English he does sound Dutch, in a bad way.
