  2.  @TheAurelianProject  Not quite. The normans were only culturally French but ethnically Danish I think (or Norse?). Then there’s of course the ‘vikang’ invasion that left its mark mostly in the north-east and not to forget the Anglo-Saxons which made all the brits speak English. As to what degree current Englanders descend from each I’d love to see studied, if it hasn’t been already. But I’m fairly certain that the britannic blood is still there.
