People of Northern European descent HAVE to be informed of their natural habitat in order to make them understand why sunscreen is so important, especially if you live closer to the equator than Northern Europe is. Light skin is an adaption to very little light in order to produce enough vitamin D. This low amount of light is because we get a lot less sun intensity on this latitude and before we started deforestation Europe was one big forest. That means we evolved on high latitudes in forests. So please realize that if you go out in the spring with no clouds or trees to protect you that your skin needs some other form of protection. Even more so when you live closer to the equator.
