  1. German words always have the emphasis on the first word(syllable), like with any Germanic language. The only exception is when there are prefixes like ge-, er- or be- . There are a few more, I read somewhere that these are called 'inseperable prefixes'. Aka they don't mean anything on their own.

  2. So what’s the source? Sounds like a somewhat poetic version of it. Because Hengest and Horse are literally just two words for Horse. Which means they’re Gods which go back to the Yamnaya, step peoples which came to Europe and account for half of the Germanic DNA.
