They don’t just go onto the scene and approach a person without first thinking of their own safety, and not take the necessary precautions to protect themselves. He wasn’t shot for having the pocket knife, he was shot for his actions with that pocket knife. This was shown and mentioned in the video. Also, they’re trained to shoot to stop the threat and if it took that many shots to get him to no longer be a threat to those officers, then so be it. Your comparison to his blade and what happened on 9/11 doesn’t hold up, because they were two entirely different situations and obviously called for different plans of attack.
