Daunte is not George Floyd. I don't agree with him being killed but the truth is he jumped in the car and drove off to avoid being arrested. Daunte wasn't entirely innocent either. Both police and Daunte was at fault and it would be wrong for us to pretend both weren't.

Based on the bodycam footage. I genuinely do not believe she meant to kill him on purpose. She sounded like it was an accident and was shocked. She got caught off guard trying to stop him from driving off to avoid being arrested. Both Daunte and Police were at fault. This is not a George Floyd situation.

I'm a Democrat but we need to be unbiased and admit that Daunte didn't deserve to die but he also wasn't innocent, the truth is he jumped in the car and drove off to avoid being arrested and that doesn't help the situation especially because cops and minorities are tense right now. It's not a reason for him to get shot but he was also at fault for trying to escape and it would be wrong for us to pretend that he didn't. Daunte isn't George Floyd, its not the same.

Tyg Rahof Regardless I dont believe the kid should have died for it but at the same time I do understand and acknowledge that Daunte was a fault too for trying to escape, because of that both police and Daunte are at fault. This is nothing like George floyd.

@cgatlin27 I agree he shouldn't have died, there's no excuse. The police should know better because they're in control and I do hope they get held accountable for Daunte death. But what I am just saying is him jumping in the car and drove off to avoid getting arrested doesn't help the case, regardless if you're white or black that is never okay to do. Does that mean he deserved to die for that? Of course not. But we can't say police was entirely at fault either because running away doesn't make it okay either. Keeping a blind eye on both sides does doesn't help. We need to step back and look at the bigger picture unbiased. Thanks for chatting with me

@cgatlin27 like I said I know and understand that death shouldn't have happened for something like that. It's not an excuse to kill him for that. I agree 100% what I am just saying is running away by jumping in the car to avoid being arrested is never okay. Once again it's not an excuse to be killed but that doesn't help the situation and shouldn't have been done regardless. That was his bad for doing that. Police shouldn't have shot him and Daunte shouldn't have tried to run away when he got arrested. That is what I am saying. We will see what happens in court with that police officer. Again, it's not a reason to kill Daunte for it but Daunte wasn't entirely innocent either when he did try to run away. I hope you understand what I am saying. Thanks for the discussion 🙂

@lduker9731 I'm sorry I have to disagree. I do not agree with police brutality and fully support Black lives matter but this isnt a case for it. I am a democrat and have to be unbiased about the situation because the truth is both are at fault. The police shouldnt have shot and killed him for any reason and should be held accountable for the death because simply by resigning herself is not enough but at the same time daunte is also at fault because he pushed the police officers hand away, jumped in the car and drove away to avoid getting arrested and that itself is never okay to do regardless if you're black or white. its not a reason to be killed for it but we cannot justify or excuse daunte for trying to escape the police by car because that is a violation itself. I dont believe he should have been shot but at least tasered to stop him because daunte was being reckless for trying to drive off as he was in the middle of being arrested and police cannot just let him get away for the sake of avoiding backlash. She should have instead tased him to stop him from getting away and then arrested him instead of shooting. I feel like I would be wrong to put all the blame on the police when it wasnt entirely their fault either. Daunte is not george floyd and should be treated like he was.

@lduker9731 I agree he shouldnt have ran away and shot for it but I do think he should have been tased at least to prevent him from getting away. Thank you for chatting with me and sharing your thoughts.
