  2. THE OATH SAYS IT IN WRITTEN LETTERS "I will protect the constitution from enemies foreign and (DOMESTIC) which means those domestic terrorists who attacked our own country.

  3.  WiseCentaur  that is the only way because Republicans are certainly not holding anyone accountable. It's why voters got Trump out and many of the corrupt GOP out of the senate

  4.  @td2555  wow I love your passion and everything you said is spot on! I completely agree with you. The oath means nothing if they can break it anytime they want and just get a slap on the wrist. That entire swearing-in is just a waste of time. It's like they just make a pinky promise not to break the rules. But if any of us "regular civilians" break any rules we not only go to jail but get fined,etc. Yet our politicians who WE hire get away with crimes. But Republicans still vote for them and keep them in office which is why they abuse their power because they know GQP voters will not hold them accountable. There's no such thing as check and balances.

  6.  @td2555  I think the only good thing that came out from the Trump administration was that it opened the eyes of many people into the world of politics. Seeing how ugly Trump and majority of Republicans got and continue to be. It made people want to learn more about politics and what we can do to hold them accountable. But yes it has been very horrible to learn and see that checks and balances are/were nonexistent.

  7.  @davew9617  it's honestly a shame that one orange man is having an everlasting negative impact on a party that was once Abraham Lincoln's. I don't understand why GOP officials are so wrapped up on this guy. They feel like they cannot go on without him. The republican party managed just fine without Trump in the past and can do it again now but they refuse. Idk

  8.  @louisecardinal  my point exactly. Any form of oath is pointless if you're allowed to break it whenever. That's like saying "you pinky promise not to do something"
