J Scott Upton It's not free market. It's supply side. And it's totally bunk, hence the chart showing its effects on wealth distribution

+vasilyjc1955 it's not just about more taxes. It's also closing loopholes so that corporations aren't able to get away with paying nothing on taxes. And you can't expect to get rid of the debt while cutting taxes, unless you plan on cutting programs, which isn't at all what we need.

Yeah, we aren't very intelligent on this side of the pond. Well, at least about 50% of the country isn't.

+User 0 So how did the south go from a democratic powerhouse to a republican powerhouse? Everyone just up and moved? No, the more likely situation is they switched parties.

+Quentin Osterhage capitalism and socialism working together works. One of the two left unchecked doesn't work. Bernie doesn't want us to be Soviet Russia. He wants an economy that works for the people rather than for corporations and the wealthy few.

+luissantoyo27 You just admitted to not caring about other people. Do you really think that reflects American (and Christian?) values? Every man for themselves? You don't care about having an educated society? That's just stupid. I'm sorry, no other way to describe it. An educated society is a more productive society, which everyone should want. I'm assuming you are the kind of person who complains about welfare. Well if we have more educated people, there's less need for welfare! You help create the problems that you bitch about.

+N Plutonium different, and worse.

+Keith McCarthy please educate yourself. Bernie doesn't want any of that.

+vasilyjc1955 there doesn't have to be the kind of income inequality we currently have. Almost all new income goes to the 1%, while the middle class continues to shrink. From 1986 to today, the 20th percentile makes 1% more per year, in terms of current dollars. The 95% percentile makes 30% more. That's a problem.

I hate Bill O'Reilly so much. He won't demand this kind of detail from a republican, he will just take their first answer and hype it up. With dems he just ignore what they said and tries to go further. You think if an R was on there he would say "well if you want to run for president you have to tell me how much I'm paying in taxes"? No way in hell.
