  2. All great tips. I work as a writing tutor at my college, and I see so many essays that start with just a vague statement about the topic "Blank is a very important issue in our society." Might have to use this video in some of my sessions to give students some options!

  4. Hey Tom - if you are up for a video suggestion, I have one. Part of me really enjoys reading. I like learning new things, engaging with new ideas, etc. But I often feel like I end up forgetting a large chunk of what I read, which can then take away some of the desire I have to read more. I sometimes come away feeling like I spent a lot of time reading something that I’m going to end up forgetting very soon. Is this relatable at all? Do you have any tips or tricks to deal with it? Thanks!

You touched on it some in this series, but a full video about it could be helpful. In particular I sometimes have that problem when doing the reading for a class that I maybe don't really care for but am required to take

  6. I've always been curious how you can know for sure what the gap in knowledge is. You can't possibly read every single article from that year, much less from previous years, so how do you know you haven't missed something?
