He checked himself into rehab and quit his law practice. I am not a doctor, but my guess is the pressure is making his have some kind of nervous breakdown. His next move will be to either lawyer up or confess, IMHO.

This is definitely a strange case, but I think the pressure finally got to the old man, who in my opinion, might have begun to realize, there is no way out of his predicament. Here is another guess on my part: He checked into a rehab to keep the cops away from him , since he is in "treatment". I bet his next move is to lawyer up. I am not a lawyer or a cop or doctor, just making some guesses from thousands of miles away. It just seems really obvious. The old man grew up in a greedy family and greed was their religion. And Greed, as he has now come to find out, was not Good, as Gorden Gecko said, but his downfall. Time will tell if I am right.

@rockpadstudios - Never heard of anyone dying from a fall down a set of stairs. That is often what we see on Dateline, and then come to find out the ME was not a real ME and assumed 15 head bruises is normal for a fall. SMH. But in the end it was a murder.

@rockpadstudios - I don't know anything beyond media accounts, but my bet is the old man did the double homicide. Now after his bizarre head wound, he is in alcohol rehab and quit his law practice. Talk about crazy ! .. this is above and beyond. He appears to be cracking, but I am not a doctor. My second bet is he gets indicted before Halloween.

@ghostwalk2446 As Sgt Hulka said in Stripes, " Ok hotshot, revilee is O five hundred." You think someone is targeting him. I don't. His self entry into rehab looks like a ploy to me, but cops are much smarter than me. If this was 1970, maybe he fools Sgt Fred the part time detective. Those days are long gone. To me, his actions appear to show desperation.

@AmbersDashcamDiaries This looks like a guy trying to throw detectives off. People underestimate how smart detectives often are. They deal with liars all day long. The problem anyone faces, who is guilty and trying to bluff the police, is you have to recall all your lies. No human can do that. So, therefore you need to be silent, which THEN adds 100 times more attention to yourself as suspect. My guess is, a wealthy lawyer might think he is 100 times smarter than any cop. That is not the issue. The issue is....... if you are the murderer, you cannot make 1 mistake.

@shaespear407 Dateline has probably had 50 shows, on husbands who off the wife when the marriage sours and serious money is on the table for possible asset division. Sure looks like this is similar. Boating accident is what the media is latching on to as possible motive.

@samuelnelsen8872 My guess is the shooting of the father was staged. Does the DA slow walk this? By killing the wife, the risk she walks away with half the estate in a divorce is 0%. Their 1700 acre hunting lodge had to be worth at least $10,000,000. This family had serious money, it seems to me.

@karenmilligan5597 The son was home alone with her. People don't just randomly fall down the stairs and die. Lots of "stories" on Dateline begin that way, but end up with a charged suspect.

@tonis204 - The housekeeper was 57. I thought he might have tried to attack her sexually, but now, do not think that is the case. Others speculate she overheard something or saw something, she should not of and was killed. By whom? No idea. There is no detail offered as to where she was found. The published news articles say she fell down stairs, but not where she was found.

@therealstoryofreligion6575 - The details will likely emerge slowly. This is a powerful family, hated by many and they reportedly railroaded many people over the decades and many are afraid of them. Sometimes what seem very obvious, might not be. The fact this has now become a national story, the truth is going to come out.

By 2018, the maid is found dead in the home. She was white, 57 and married. The family insurance firm paid the maid's family $500,000 less $175,000 in attorney fees. Then 2019 the boating accident and Son paul's friend is killed. More lawsuit are filed. Around 2020, Mrs learns hubby has mistress in Alabama. She hired a forensic team to review her family finances going back 10 years, likely prepping for a divorce. Rumors abound that hubby was laundering money and evading taxes and the co-conspirators may reach deep into his business. people assume the wife was clueless about this.

@samuelnelsen8872 I am watching this story from 20 states away, but it looks super sketch. If I had to guess, I think the cops are looking at Paul's dad. Who is the trigger person? That is one issue but as to the mastermind.......I would bet $500 on the old man.

And what is taking the cops so long to arrest the old drunk? He stole millions of dollars and is not arrested? How long does e think he can stay in rehab - 1 year ? Let him do his rehab like everyone else, in the jail.
