@leftfinned Many years ago, my older brother was friends with suburban cop and I did a ride along with him one shift. He was 27 and I was in college at the time. He was not very welcoming, and I think I figured out why, later on. His shift was 2-12 and one of the first things we did was park 1 mile from a HS and do radar. He gave tickets to every male student driver he stopped, and chatted up the female students he stopped. We returned to the station about 8 pm and he said he was going to write reports and I could leave. I left. I later heard from my older brother his radar activity was a cover, to make it look like he was working, when his real intent to to meet cute girls, get their name and address and hopefully meet them in a bar, and chat them up as the good cop who let them go. This is when drinking age was 18. I have 5 sisters. Those who knew him, called him ugly and creepy. He was on the shorter side, maybe 5'7", carried a few extra pounds, balding with a decidedly round face. This to me, was a form of stalking, under the cover of official police work. He was married and his wife was good looking, although she was what I would call very naive. I think this problem is epidemic in police departments. I would bet money he was a serial cheater, using his badge to achieve his objectives, perhaps on a DUI stop or late night traffic stop where he could trade with the target a no jail deal, in exchange for what he wanted. Cops in my county have been busted for exactly that and it is never one victim but 40 that come forward.

@annconforti9294 - Yes, the scarier part is adultery is not the #1 reason cops get divorces. It is DV. One of my neighbors was married to a cop for 22 years. He was a patrolman for 10 years then become a drug cop ( you have never seen a standard of living increase faster and bigger until you see THAT type of job promotion, holy moly) and soon he was never home. He was then invited to HS friends wedding 2000 miles away one weekend. He was 55. He went by himself, met an old HS GF who was divorced. He returned home, submitted his retirement papers, got a apt, and when his retirement went through, he left town. Told the wife, you can have the house, my boat, and everything except my pension. He married the former HS GF. He was a mysterious guy. He never invited cops or non relatives to his house. He got his mail at 10:30 pm to avoid any small talk with anyone. If he was watering his lawn, and saw a neighbor walking on the sidewalk, he vanished into the garage then house. Small talk with any neighbor was something he refused to do. He took about 10 vacations per year, no joke. He loved baseball and visiting baseball stadiums, so he and the wife and two kids used to fly commercial to different cities, many time a year, just to watch his favorite team. So what did you do this weekend ? Oh, I flew the wife and two kids to Boston or Chicago or Milwaukee or St Paul to watch my favorite team play! That is just one story of 50 that convinced me he really did have a money tree farm somewhere!
