  2. 2nd conviction for a DWI in CALIF within a 10 year time period is 30 days. For those working , there is work release option. 5 days is special treatment. WOW. 3rd DWI in a 10 year period is 6 months in jail or work release 4th in 10 years, is a prison term. Perhaps 2 years.

I know a case of a person who got their 3rd in 10 years, and was going to be facing 6 months in jail, but since he had 7 kids, and a non employed wife, the judge disregarded the 9 year old DWI and he got 30 days in a work release, the penalty fr the 2nd DWI in 10 years. He was at a casino , 40 miles from his house and a deputy stopped him for a burned out tail  light. Gambling and drinking. SMH. A recipe for the poor house.
