The land distance from Toledo to Buffalo is 241 miles, and the formula for curvature of a round ball with a 25,000 circumference tell us Buffalo is 39,000 feet lower than Toledo.  Both Toledo and Buffalo are 600 feet about Sea Level. There is no curve. It is a flat plain. As a pilot having flown that route, I make no adjustment for a city, Buffalo, that is 39,000 feet LOWER than the city of Toledo, when departing Toledo. We call it straight and level flight. The Same goes for flights from Milwaukee , across the 90 miles wide body of water called Lake Michigan flying to the land mass we call Michigan. I make no elevation adjustment for flying in to a city 5400 feet LOWER than Milwaukee. The Michigan shoreline is level wit the Milwaukee shoreline.
