It will explain a lot and offer little hope ( I am half way through it, perhaps the second half is undimmed optimism). The window for change was Corbyn but that moment has passed due to lies of the media and Conservative Party in the 2019 election. The Electoral Commission is weak and the penalties for breaking electoral law no deterrent. George Monbiot is right and sincere but unfortunately he is preaching to the converted and those who need to be converted are not listening because they are persuaded by digital lies to vote against their own self interest. The digital wild west of the internet means that Cambridge Analytica was only the start of what is to come unless urgent corrective action is taken. But it is unlikely. Sacha Baron Cohen's speech to the Anti Defamation League about the need for the power of social media companies to be brought under control is a powerful call to action-recommended.
