I do not agree with many of its methods but the fact is the school has got excellent results and parents are falling over themselves to secure a place there. It is oversubscribed for a reason. There are over a hundred other high performing secondary schools in London so it is not the only one but in the context of some of the alternatives where the quality of education will not be as good, Michaela does a good job. Silent corridors and such like are not necessary but they should be calm and orderly, which is not the case in many schools. I am a socialist and opposed to academisation which has been a disaster for many reasons but the education establishment does not want to talk about behaviour in schools for the most part. If Michaela's results had been poor we would never have heard the end of it. The fact that there have not been large numbers of parents or former students going to the press to publicly criticise the school suggests that broadly those associated with it must be satisfied with the quality of education and the culture in the school.
