Good with the economy? 1920s and 1930s they imposed austerity that created widespread poverty and led to them being kicked out by the voters in 1945. 1980s Thatcher destroyed the economy and social fabric, never to recover due to New Labour's acceptance of the Thatcherite settlement save for a few changes to soften the blows of neoliberalism. 1992 Britain forced out of ERM and interest rates shot up. 2010-2022 imposed austerity that killed 300,000 due to excess deaths linked to their cruelty and economic illiteracy. 2022 crashed the economy and caused mortgage payments to go up by an average £500 per month for years to come. Caused numerous house price crashes- e.g, early 1990s and the next one which is going to be horrific. Have I missed anything about their brilliant economic record? I thought not.
