  1. This is the culmination of over forty years of Thatcherism which Labour capitulated to under Kinnock. Acceptance of the Thatcherite settlement by Labour 1997 to 2010 gave rise to Brexit due to the abandonment of workers who took a wrong turn by aligning themselves with the Tories in 2019. Thousands of people left the Labour Party as they lost the faith until Corbyn gave them hope for once until the establishment and media did everything to deliver the Tories to power in 2017 and 2019. Austerity also gave rise to Brexit. Without Brexit an opportunist like Truss would not have been PM and could not have crashed the economy and forced mortgages up by an extra £5000 per year, the equivalent of 5p on income tax. Eye watering. The political class is the problem, including Starmer's Labour. Its blind faith in neoliberalism as an ideology has destroyed the UK economy and society with serious consequences still to come for decades. The Tory death cult is a symptom of neoliberalism's failures.
