@californiadreamin8423 I think their agenda is to represent their members effectively as any trade union should ( not all do). Lexit as it is often called is an old left wing tradition going back to the 1970s championed by Tony Benn and others that saw Europe ( EEC and EC) as a capitalist cartel run for corporations. The EU is not perfect but remain and reform was the right position, which Corbyn repeatedly enunciated in interviews as well as speeches that were barely covered in the media ( what a surprise). The media had the biggest influence in favour of the leave vote, both print and television. Most papers are right wing and the BBC was a disgrace in the false equivalence it gave to both sides of the argument, including an outrageous amount of airtime for Farage.

@californiadreamin8423 Lots of people argued for it. It was the Labour Party position and Corbyn gave a number of speeches in favour of remain. Forget the reform if you like but Corbyn backed remain. Alan Johnson also led a Labour campaign for Britain to remain in the EU in the run up to the referendum.
