One union needed in education but are teachers demanding it? Of course not. Two unions makes strike action much easier to avoid. The teacher unions recommending the 6.5% effective pay cut to their members is diabolical. Compare and contrast with the BMA who have said no way to such an insulting offer. Compare also to teachers in Scotland who have a 15% deal. If and when Torybour get in there will be no more money for the public sector in the name of fiscal rectitude but plenty for the rich.

@toughercoot0518 I'm not voting for Labour under Starmer- I will vote Green. Choose who I want, like you say. Thanks for the permission. I remember 1994 to 1997 when people who believed Blair was a bad choice of leader were told to suspend their doubts and vote Labour for the greater good. That is nearly thirty years ago and now the Blairites are influential again ( to say the least) thinking they can re-run the same neoliberal prospectus that is the root cause of every problem facing Britain since 1979, which they surrendered to under Blair. Owen Jones' comments about Labour today are on the money.

No hope at all with a Starmer Labour Party. There should be a leadership challenge as soon as possible the other side of a Labour government forming if wins the GE.

It can't disappear if it is replaced by Torybour.
