  1. The title misses the point. It is neoliberalism that has destroyed the economy, the same ideology Labour is committed to maintaining and oversaw from 1997 to 2010 when in office. It capitulated to it under Blair and the Starmer project is an entirely misguided re-run of the same failed approach. Having purged the left Labour offers very thin gruel if it wins the next election. Tory voters won't care because there will be little difference but those who realise that income inequality is one of the most egregious ways in which life chances are blighted is going to be in for a shock if they think this iteration of Labour has any intention of pursuing democratic socialism. Blame the Tories correctly so but Labour is on the same page as them.
