Rent controls. Labour did it in 1924 and the need is even more urgent now. It also legislated to ensure houses built were for rent only so middle class speculators could not buy them to sell. Where there is a will there is a way to put people before profit. That's what Corbyn promised but the Starmer Labour Party is fully signed up to neoliberal economics and a seamless transition to never ending Thatcherism.

@jimr1603 Very true. The Tories have gone further than she would have done on a number of issues. The 1980s were a nightmare but the last few years have been a total nightmare. Blair caved in to Thatcherism and she described 'new' Labour as her greatest triumph.

@sulalee7413 Thatcher forced the surrender of Labour to neoliberalism. It did not have to capitulate but that is what has happened.
