This clip is ridiculous. Typical unserious British reaction. There is no financial black hole and no cuts are necessary. Labour is accepting the Tory measures, which means there is no point in Labour.

@johnmackenzie6181 If the debate constitutes accepting Tory measures, it is not a debate, is it? It is a consensus. I suggest you read a couple of the articles in The Guardian in the last couple of days that make it clear no cuts are necessary. Permanent austerity is not necessary. Simple.

@johnmackenzie6181 They have said nothing to oppose them. It was put to Pat McFadden Labour MP on the Politics Live programme today that Labour is accepting the measures and he did not disagree.

@markwelch3564 It might not sound like it but what has Labour said to oppose it? What measures has it rejected? None.

@johnmackenzie6181 Which measures is Labour rejecting? None.

@johnmackenzie6181 Don't be so rude. If you are not sure what rejected means, look it up. It was put to the Labour spokesperson on the BBC Politics Live programme today that Labour will be accepting the measures in the budget. He pointedly did not deny it. There is a difference between commenting on the measures and actively opposing them. Obviously. Look it up on the BBC to see the exchange for yourself.
