Britain is well on the road to a far right authoritarian regime. It can be traced back to the illiberalism of the Thatcher government. Neoliberalism has failed yet no-one in the public square will call it out. The political system is not working and reactionary forces are a clear and present danger. Remember this is a far right government already, not the traditional Conservative Party, which has been too right wing since Thatcher won power in 1979.

@kayedal-haddad For the public to join the dots ( highly unlikely) to see that the majority do not benefit from a rigged system. Progressive taxation to make the rich pay their fair share. The Labour Party to fail in government by following the same failed policies as the Tories to jolt the public out of its false consciousness ( not going to happen). More politicians from less affluent backgrounds ( won't happen). Proper regulation of the media to rein in its excesses. Proper industrial policy with long term goals. Green industrial revolution. Investment education, skills and training. Productivity to be tackled. In short, no answer as none of the issues will be addressed. Make the economy work for most and the slide towards fascism will have no space to breathe as part of the political culture.
