  2. Erik Bakker, I wouldn't do that. It's UV radiation that causes damage to your eyes and looking at the sun at any time is a bad idea.

  5.  @simeonb3726  Unless you can cite a credible source that the camera was set up to shoot at 1:1 then you can't say they're fake based on the size of the moon in the image. You would also need to be able to prove the photo is at the original dimensions and hasn't been cropped in. It's very doubtful that you're going to be able to get that information but unless you have all these details, your comparison as you've stated in your original post cannot be applied.

"there is no effect to make it appear comparatively smaller" ... apart from a wide angle lens. Like I said, unless you know how the lens was set up you can’t state with any certainty whether it’s fake or not based on how the large or small the moon appears so you’re wasting your time trying to argue your way out of it. Any rational person could see that what I'm saying is just a simple fact.

  10. Erik Bakker Yes, that's true but when the sun re-emerges your eyes aren't adjusted for high amounts of bright light and you can easily damage your eyes if you're not careful. However, they're your eyes, do what you like, just be careful.
