There are no Antarctic Treaty military forces you absolute mong - if you actually bothered to read it you would find that the Antarctic Treaty specifically prohibits military activity. A true proponent of the scientific method understands that science isn’t about proof, it’s about collecting the available evidence to arrive at a conclusion and then trying to disprove it. If it can’t be disproven after peer reviewed attempts then it advances to a theory. As such there is overwhelming evidence that we live on a sphere. I have to laugh at flat earthers who say they are using “real science” when their model is so trivially easy to falsify.

Yes he was a science fiction author. He didn’t “invent” satellites technically nor was he the first to come up with the idea but he popularised the idea that a geostationary satellite could be used for global communication. Many great ideas originate in science fiction.

You’ll get some flat earthers using certain documents as evidence where they are making aeronautics calculations for example and factoring in earth’s curvature is so negligible on the outcome that they model it on a flat plane. It’s not evidence of earth being flat but flat earthers have very primitive brains and don’t understand a lot of things.

@ww3659 from what I’ve seen that evidence isn’t overly convincing. Usually the important details such as observer height and the actual distance to the object being viewed are glossed over or not mentioned. These things are obviously important if the study is going to be considered scientific in any way. And the distances shown in these videos are rarely more than 30 miles. If earth was flat, we should be able to see things that are 100 miles away at least. And I’m yet to hear a rational explanation why large objects appear to sink below the horizon as you move away from them.

And yet it traverses the sky at 15 degrees per hour, the same as it does at any other time of the year no matter where it’s viewed from. How do you explain this?

Yes. But you don't need equations - the fact that we have two pole stars is a very clear indication that Earth isn't a flat plane. If you want proof - as much as science can "prove" anything - measure the angular height of whatever celestial pole you can see (that's roughly the position of Polaris in the northern hemisphere) using a phone app if you don't have a sextant and notice that it will match your latitude. Given that a degree of latitude is uniformly 111km from pole to pole (with a slight variance due to Earth's ellipsoid shape), this will only work on a sphere. That should of course be the end of the debate but flat earthers are apparently not bothered by things like factual evidence.
