I'm not a medical expert but unlike 95% of the armchair experts you get commenting on social media, I can acknowledge that those working in the hospitals who are saying this is a serious problem probably have more of an idea than some keyboard warrior with no medical training who is suddenly a renowned virologist - and I'm guessing you're in the latter category right? What do you think is going to happen if this gets out of control and hospital beds are no longer available?

I've heard quite a few saying it's also a major problem. So who do you believe? I think the situation is more nuanced than that. It seems to effect some regions badly, others not so much. Yes, the mortality rate has been less than what was predicted but my understanding that was based on a worst case scenario such as what was seen in Italy for example. It's not the virus itself that is so deadly - if you get it, chances are you will probably be fine even if the symptoms are initially severe - it's what happens when hospital beds run out. Then you get people being left to die. "Why was the 40.000 protest of BLM allowed to march under the lock down with zero consequences in Victoria ?" Well I'm not part of the Victorian government so I can't comment on that.
