I don't think he was entirely innocent but I think it was an extremely toxic relationship and those situations bring out the worst in people. When it was all happening live, I tuned out to it because I found the idea of making entertainment out of a relationship breakdown to be pretty vulgar - plus as someone who was in an emotionally abusive relationship for many years, I found the whole thing a bit triggering. But the general gist I got was that he was innocent and she was a bit of a loon. I watched the Netflix documentary figuring it was a significant event in pop culture, but I came away from it thinking they were both horrible people. I certainly didn't think he came across as an innocent victim and it surprises me that people think that.
