I think no cops will ever be cleared in a case like this ever again. The new standard will be to let the cop go to public trial, where the cop stands no chance of winning. Everybody wants the police presence to diminish, much like everybody wants the dope fiends to OD or die of exposure. You can see these things plainly.

Cities will throw their cops over the wall to appease the savages. You cannot vote your way out of this problem. America is going to evolve into an open-air prison and you are going to have to get along with the criminal element, no more protection will be available.

@maxsmith695 LA had that same problem in the late 60s and 70s. Taking away the choke hold is what made the place explode over King. Back in the choke hold days, problems were resolved quietly. Nobody has a problem with MMA choke holds, the cops used to be way more expert at it than those fighters are today. I wish we could have a return to the old cops and their methods. These new cops don't have enough of the right stuff and options to contain the menace that plagues society. Perhaps the best thing is a nationwide police strike and we can get back proper policing policies viz; comply or die.
