Create a war that convinces Yankees to protect their factory occupations by poking holes in their agrarian brothers to the south so the factory owners would stop talking about using slave labor in factories. When the Yankees returned to their factories, the management and system had been changed so the factory owned all personnel. Then the Yankees were caught up fighting Industrial Wars for the next 60 years. It is a little more complex than freeing obsolete farm equipment to be a menace to mankind forevermore.

If reparations are made on anything other than slavery, then descendants of convict labor will be justified asking for reparations. Religious groups chased off American soil will be entitled to reparations. The focus must be on North American slaves that can be verified, otherwise, slavery reparations will fail.
