  1. Ryan Dugan the horntail was nothing compared to Smaug in terms of size, if Harry tried what he did with the horntail on Smaug he would get massacred. Dumbledore is a powerful wizard but even he would probably not be able to stop a dragon like Smaug due to his size and intellegence. Smaug only died because he got a little cocky and Bard was EXTREMELY lucky to land that shot with the iron arrow. If the arrow had missed, they would all have died against Smaug
