  1. gurvmlk not really. Every time goku tried to do something with gohan or goten she would intervene and force them to study instead (even when the fate of the world was at stake)

  2. gurvmlk except the one time that goku actually did that he wasn’t sure that he could defeat cell himself but knew that gohan could if he could tap into his hidden potential. That was basically the only time that goku kinda forced him to fight since goku was either injured, sick, or dead the other times that gohan had to fight. I’m just saying that forcing your son to study when the world is currently under threat of destruction when said son has the power to stop that is a bad move. I’m not saying that chichi is that bad of a parent but her priorities can be kinda messed up. That plus the fact she tried to decide how pan would grow up is also fucked up

  4. In Peter’s case they actually do explain why he treated meg badly, it’s because of the abuse (which was arguably worse) that he received from his parents and his sister. This is something that meg recognized when she saw how karen acted towards peter and she tried to help him, something that his own parents never did. It doesn’t excuse Peters actions but it does help explain them
