  1. I gotta agree. It stripped away most of the campiness of the original, gave the fights real stakes, incorporated Unicron as the threat that he truly deserved to be, and had a better overarching story. The fact that they actually killed off characters and didn’t use bs to revive Optimus Prime and Megatron. Optimus was resuscitated almost immediately after he died and megatron used dark energon to revive himself (once by using it alongside a cordial psychic patch and the second time was Unicron’s doing)
