  6. +Kaelob Riley the fact that many of the other anime with similar transformations like Yu Yu Hakusho and Sailor Moon started to gain popularity outside of Japan after the Dragonball series had already been released in other countries. I'm not saying that the Dragonball series was the originator of anime transformations, just that it was a big part of what made anime transformations popular by being released just before the big increase in the popularity of anime that started in the 90's (plus the first Super Saiyan transformation was pretty intense and had a lot of buildup).
