  2. True but asteroids do have that kind of power, the chixulub impact is a perfect example of that since not only was it the second largest asteroid impact that we know about but it actually did cause a mass extinction event

  8.  @jasontoddman7265  it also would need to hit the right spot, that’s what actually made the chixulub impact so catastrophic. Not only was it a massive 6-15 mile wide asteroid but it also hit a location full of sulfur rich carbonate rock, it was a recipe for disaster
