  4.  @Kiki-cs8xv  we don’t actually know the full extent of the death toll since there are large sections of both cities that haven’t been excavated, the general consensus is that the eruption killed at least 16,000 people

  5. Especially since number three can easily happen again since Vesuvius is still active. Another Pompeii sized eruption from Vesuvius would be even worse since there are more people living near the volcano and it could easily destroy Naples, that’s millions of people within the reach of Vesuvius

  6. That theory was basically debunked and I can name an even scarier event, the eruption of the Siberian Traps. The Siberian Traps eruption was much larger than toba, lasted for around 1 million years, and set off a series of events leading to the Permian Extinction (aka the worst mass extinction event in earth’s history)
